The Campo Grande neighborhood of São Paulo is home to about 97,000 inhabitants, mostly with low incomes. Social services such as schools and hospitals are stretched thin, and literacy rates are low. This project, with partner GAIA, will support training for 120 women in Campo Grande in sewing or elder care. The women will be taught the theoretical and technical skills needed for employment as caregivers in institutions or private homes, or as seamstresses. In addition, they will receive instruction and support so they can get proper work documents, access social services, and improve their families’ nutrition. This project will bring improved earning potential to 120 women, empowering them within their families and communities. New partner, new project
