BGR partner Building Bridges India works to support and empower women whose husbands committed suicide because of their indebtedness, leaving the debt to their widows. This project provides training in organic gardening methods, medicinal remedy preparation, and business skills to approximately 300 widows from landless or land-poor families, with a focus on small-plot and container gardening. A related income-generation initiative will teach women to grow herbs that are in demand for natural remedy production and other uses. The project will also fund a series of health and nutrition workshops to help reduce the Incidence of prenatal malnutrition, anemia, anxiety and depression, and related conditions common among this population of women and girls. Direct beneficiaries will be 300 women, 100 men, and 100 girls. Annually renewable project
