In Inhambane Province in Mozambique, droughts, erratic rainfall, flooding and storms have disrupted agricultural production and reduced access to safe water, undermining families’ ability to meet their children’s basic needs. This project with longtime BGR partner CARE is emergency food assistance and clean water for 1,225 people, focusing on children under 5 years of age. The project will also support the construction of safe, stimulating play spaces for young children who are in the care of elderly grandmothers and other caregivers while their parents are working locally or abroad.
