A Holiday Message from Ven. Bhikkhu Bodhi
Dear Friends,
The approach of winter is a time when the days grow shorter and darkness arrives earlier and lasts longer. It’s a time when you might think the world is being swallowed up by the night. But when we reach the winter solstice, slowly a shift takes place. The days gradually grow longer, and in time spring arrives, followed by summer.
This change of seasons is a fitting symbol for the work of Buddhist Global Relief. We choose some of the poorest regions of the world, where people live in darkness, with little hope for the future, where they are weighed down by chronic poverty, hunger, and malnutrition. And then, with our partners, we sponsor projects that provide them with unexpected blessings: with greater access to nutritious food, with educational opportunities, with skills to improve their chances of getting a good job. (For a comprehensive overview of our projects, take a look here.)
The success of this important work depends on you, on your generosity and support for our mission. We are deeply grateful to you for your past support, and now, as the year draws to a close, we hope you will continue to sponsor our programs into the future. Your donations do make a critical difference. They are literally saving and transforming lives.
As we come to the end of 2025, please bring forth a heart of compassion and help us give a hand to some of the most needy people in this world. Whatever you give will fund projects that pull people back from the edge of despair and give them a fresh take on life. When you give, you become an esteemed partner in our attempt to express compassion in action.
Let me close by wishing you and your family abundant blessings in the coming year and for a long time to come.
