Four people holding fresh vegetables in a garden.

The Easton Urban Farm, operated by the Easton Area Neighborhood Centers, is a 5/8-acre plot on which community volunteers grow vegetables, fruits, and seedlings for distribution to low-income residents of the city of Easton, Pennsylvania. The produce and seedlings are distributed through the city’s food-pantry system as well as the West Ward’s Vegetables in the Community program. In addition to providing an estimated 6,500 pounds of nutritious, locally grown produce to food-insecure families, the project also teaches volunteers and other community members how to grow produce in any setting, including bucket gardens, backyards, community gardens, and a farm. This year, the farm will also launch a youth internship program to teach teens ages 14 to 18 good work habits and introduce them to farm work including planting, irrigating, weeding, managing disease, harvesting, and distributing produce. The project is expected to benefit 1,429 adults, more than 800 of them women, and an estimated 593 children. Annually renewable project
