Located on a five-acre plot in the Himalayan region of Tawang, the Mahabodhi Tawang Centre provides educational, housing, and nutritional support for area children and the elderly. Funding from BGR helps support education and housing for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. The Mahabodhi Tawang Centre maintains a hostel for underprivileged students from the remotest parts of the district. The Centre also provides housing, food, and health care to seven young women pursuing higher education.
This project supports the center’s food program, which provides nutritious meals three times a day to more than 200 community members, including children, elderly people, monks, and organization staff. The students also receive school uniforms, additional clothing, and school supplies.
