In the 1990s, the Mahabodhi International Meditation Center built hostels to support educational opportunities for children from economically and socially disadvantaged families in Ladakh. Staff members strive to create a feeling of family, helping students cultivate cooperation and mutual understanding as they learn together, maintain a community garden, and participate in social events.
A grant from BGR will allow the Mahabodhi International Mediation Center to expand its hostel for boys. The project will help build dormitories for 80 more students, helping to fight illiteracy and poverty and providing new opportunities to these children. New partner, new project.
