In the village of Ebase, in the Kupe-Muanenguba division of southwest Cameroon, nearly all are subsistence farmers, many of whom struggle to meet the basic needs of their families. This project with BGR partner CENCUDER Cameroon provides nutritious hot lunches for 107 undernourished children attending the local Ebase-Bajoh primary school. Since its introduction in 2015, the feeding program has increased enrollment and lowered dropout rates, especially among village girls. This year, the project aims to increase access to basic education by 25 percent in five villages in the Bajoh community; to improve the nutrition and health of 107 schoolchildren, and to decrease the dropout rate of village girls from 10 percent to 1 percent. The project will also provide information and resources for parents and child caregivers. Annually renewable project
