The Easton Urban Farm, operated by the Easton Area Neighborhood Centers, is a 5/8-acre plot on which community volunteers grow vegetables, fruits, and seedlings for distribution to low-income residents of the city of Easton, Pennsylvania. The produce and seedlings are distributed through the city’s food-pantry system as well as the West Ward’s Vegetables in the Community program. In addition to providing an estimated 6,000 pounds of nutritious, locally grown produce to food-insecure families, the project also builds community through programs including a free monthly workshop series on urban farming topics, a partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Easton introducing young people to the cultivation and harvesting processes, and a “Farmer Education” paid internship project for local youth. The project benefits 800 adults, 600 of them women, and an estimated 900 children. Annually renewable project
