Mahabodhi Maitri Mandala Arunachal Branch, Diyun, was established in 2003 to provide an elementary education to local children in need. Half of the students are from single-parent families or are orphaned, and many are malnourished prior to admission. The school provides free schooling and hostel facilities for 206 children, 151 of whom are girls. The student body includes children from fifteen different tribal communities, including children from the Chakma and Hajong refugee communities, who are often excluded from access to services. This project will provide meals, health screenings, and necessary school supplies for all of the school’s students.
