Mahabodhi Maitri Mandala Arunachal Branch, Diyun, was established in 2003 to provide an elementary education to children from local families in need, using bamboo huts to provide classroom and hostel space. Generous support from villagers and other donors allowed the project to expand to provide secondary education, and 683 students currently attend. Additionally, the school now offers a range of humanitarian services focusing on holistic education, health and nutrition assistance, and vocational training.
Many of the students who arrive at the group’s hostels and school are malnourished prior to admission. This project will provide meals, health screenings, and necessary school supplies for 188 students, and meals for 84 staff members.
