In Sri Lanka’s Western Province, the Hewagama Model Primary School serves more than one hundred first through fifth graders who face economic and educational challenges. Caring staff members work closely with students to create a nurturing environment. This project with BGR partner the Shraddha Charity Organization will feed 103 students five days a week, and will invite parents to participate in preparing morning meals at the school. The meals will give the children much-needed nutrients and energy to focus on their studies, giving them a path out of generational poverty.
