Lotus Outreach’s Cambodian Tertiary Education and Leadership Youth Training (CATALYST) program provides qualified graduates of its primary and secondary school scholarship (GATE) program with university scholarships and related assistance. During this academic year, BGR support will provide scholarships to sixteen young women.

The scholarship covers tuition and fees, medical services, and housing, as well as textbooks and school supplies, computer training, workshop fees, and a monthly stipend. Food aid is also provided via a separate grant. By facilitating access to higher education, the program activates the social and economic potential of young women at the margins. Young women who gain experience and job qualification through CATALYST attain security, self-sufficiency, and fulfillment. They also serve as role models for future generations, and combat damaging class and gender norms on a societal level. Annually renewable project
