Founded in 1992 by Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC)’s Mahabodhi Residential School serves hundreds of children from economically marginalized communities of Ladakh, providing them with education according to Buddhist values of compassion, loving-kindness, nonviolence, and non-separation.
Over the last three decades, thousands of students have been educated through the MIMC, and the school’s population continues to grow. A BGR project this year will support the completion of construction of a classroom to enable the school to serve more children. An estimated 900 people are expected to benefit, including 500 female students.
