Two men are working on the ground for the pipe system

In Undrajavaram Mandal in Andhra Pradesh, nearly 30 percent of the population lacks access to sanitary toilets, contributing to the spread of diseases like typhoid, polio, diarrhea, jaundice, and cholera. The lack of adequate toilets and hygiene facilities in schools presents a particular challenge to girls, who often miss school while menstruating, falling behind and becoming more likely to drop out. This project with the India-based Rosary Prayer Society will survey local housing and water resources to determine the best locations for forty sanitary latrines, three handicap-accessible latrines, and two latrines for schools. The project will directly benefit 1,500 people, including 985 women and girls, and an estimated 300 people will be indirect beneficiaries.
