Farmers harvesting rice in a rural field under a cloudy sky.

This project, with long-term BGR partner Rachana, aims to ensure food security and improve the living conditions in thirteen villages of two communes, Sanlong and Ang Keo, in Treang district of Takeo province. The project has three primary elements: (1) training for family farmers in climate-resilient rice cultivation techniques to reduce chemical inputs and increase resistance to drought conditions; (2) education and training for farmers in organic and integrated farming methods for vegetable production to increase resilience to drought and disaster conditions, and reduce chemical inputs; (3) working with educators and primary school and high school students to create a curriculum and provide education in climate change, adaptation, and sustainable-agricultural life skills, and to support school agricultural gardens to implement these techniques. This project will give 390 poor families training and tools to increase the quantity and quality of their food production, both for food security and for increased income. An increase in income not only provides improved living conditions but also ensures that families can afford schooling for their children. Annually renewable project
