Longtime BGR partner the Reciprocity Foundation has been offering material and holistic support to homeless youth in New York City since 2005. Last year, Reciprocity opened a new space with a broader mission. In addition to serving homeless youth, Reciprocity has opened its doors to a variety of vulnerable New Yorkers, including survivors of domestic violence, homeless families, new immigrants, young veterans, LGBTQ persons, and those facing long-term chronic illness or pain. Many in these communities lack access to healthy food and a caring environment in which to improve health and wellness in times of personal crisis. Since its launch in May 2018, the new center has served more than 400 people for holistic health services, healthy communal meals, and weekend retreats. BGR support funds a food program offering high-quality vegetarian meals along with workshops on topics including nutrition, food shopping, and meal preparation. Annually renewable project
