In Afghanistan, few young women who graduate high school have the means or access to attend college. This project through longtime BGR partner CARE will support female students in the rural Khost province. The scholarship recipients include young women who are currently attending medical and private universities in Khost province as well as recent high-school graduates. These young women have successfully pursued their studies despite the changing political and social climate in Afghanistan resulting from the collapse of the government and the return of the Taliban to Kabul. BGR’s contribution will fund approximately 30 scholarships, including tuition, textbooks and other educational materials, and transportation, providing these young women with vocational opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach. Existing partner, new project.
