While Afghanistan has made major advances in education over the past ten years, girls pursuing education still face many challenges. Since 2012, CARE has helped nearly 300 young women from Afghanistan’s Khost province attend university or technical institutes after finishing secondary school. Scholarship students have found careers in health care and social work, helping their families become more self-sufficient while improving living conditions in rural communities.
Support from BGR will allow CARE to support 101 new students, providing textbooks and paying for transportation and school fees. Existing partner, new project.
