Families in Haiti’s Sud Department face significant economic barriers to accessing nutritious food as well as both economic and geographic barriers to accessing healthcare. Responding to this great need, BGR partner Hope for Haiti serves 5,000 infants and children under the age of 5 suffering from malnutrition or at-risk of malnutrition in Haiti’s Sud and Nippes Departments each year.

This year’s project is providing nutritional supplements and pediatric care to 5,000 infants and children under 5 who are suffering from malnutrition or who are at risk of malnutrition. In addition to its ongoing work providing primary pediatric care and nutrition from its Infirmary St. Etienne in Les Cayes, Hope for Haiti also conducts weekly mobile clinics in remote communities and provides financial and logistical support for families whose children require advanced care at other facilities.
