CELEBRATING VESAK

In May, we celebrate Vesak, a joyous occasion when we reflect on the Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and passing away.

This Vesak, please consider honoring the Buddha’s great compassion at your temple, monastery, or Dharma circle by making a community donation to support the work of Buddhist Global Relief:

  • Hold a metta meditation session or other compassion practice to celebrate the Buddha’s vast generosity in sharing his Dharma with the world;
  • Share the word about Buddhist Global Relief’s work in a Dharma talk on the subject of compassion in action or related topics;
  • Hold a “bathing the Buddha” ceremony, a family day, or another activity;
  • Set aside a special dana box for donations to Buddhist Global Relief, or allocate a portion of the contributions you receive as a gift to BGR.

Your Sangha’s donation will feed those who are hungry, provide an education to children in need, empower vulnerable women through vocational training and other support, and fund sustainable agriculture training for poor farmers.

A BGR project in Cameroon provided food aid and educational support for children in need.

With just a little help, people living at the edge of survival can obtain nutritious food, learn livelihood skills, receive an education, and transform the material conditions of their lives. Please consider offering this help today.

We thank you for considering BGR in your Vesak celebrations.
