THANK YOU FOR JOINING OUR SPRING RETREAT ON

THE BRAHMA VIHARAS

During Memorial Day Weekend, 2021, Ven. Bhikkhu Bodhi, Ayya Dhammadipa, Rev. Jin Chuan, and the worldwide Buddhist Global Relief community came together for an online meditation retreat in support of BGR’s work to relieve the suffering of hunger and poverty around the world.

The four Brahma Viharas—the “Divine Abodes”—are boundless loving-kindness, compassion, altruistic joy, and equanimity. Through meditative cultivation these qualities, also known as the “immeasurable minds,” are awakened and extended to all sentient beings. The eminent German monk, Ven. Nyanaponika Thera, has said of the Brahma Viharas: “They are the great removers of tension, the great peacemakers in social conflict, and the great healers of wounds. They level social barriers, build harmonious communities, awaken magnanimity, revive joy and hope, and promote human unity against the forces of egotism.”

Donations to Buddhist Global Relief are still welcome. Please give as your means allow. Your generous contribution will support BGR’s work to feed the hungry, to educate children in need, to support sustainable agriculture, and to empower vulnerable women.
